As the 2024/25 English football season kicks off, Genius Sports has revealed that its computer vision cameras will be used in the Premier League’s incoming semi-automated offside officiating system.
The GeniusIQ AI and data platform will generate precise, broadcast-ready 3D renders of players and their surroundings to allow near-instant decision-making. Semi-automated offsides are expected to become part of the Premier League’s VAR package this autumn.
